Why cricket overs are not decimals
An over has six balls, so the number after the dot counts balls, from 0 to 5. 19.4 means 19 overs and 4 balls, which is 118 balls or 19.667 in true decimal overs. Treating 19.4 as a normal decimal breaks run rate and NRR calculations.
